So today is ekadashi tithi, so what do we mean by ekadashi and why to observe ekadashi, if we observe ekadashi, what will we gain, if we do not maintain ekadashi, what do we lose, and why is it called as Madhav Tithi, why is it called as Hari vasar Tithi. We have to know all of this in detail.So you know in this world during the day time the sun is present, and during the night time the moon is present. By this way day and night, day and night, this cycle keeps going on.Sun will never be at night time and Moon will never be during the daytime.
Bhagwan has arranged such a way that everything will come in their own time and,” Time and tide wait for none”. So Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur wrote one kirtan
“Sri Radha Krishna pad Kamale, gelo Je Dibas na asibe aar, ebe Krishna ki upay”
“Oh Krishna, the day has gone, it will not return anymore, what shall I do??” means when I was youthful, I had so much energy, at that time I did nothing, now the time has passed, now I am lamenting what shall I do!!
Whenever there is a golden chance for SadhuSang, that time I am not accepting Sadhusang,
“Gelo Je Divas” – that day has passed, What shall I do, lamenting only.So when we come in contact with Sadhu Sang, we should not spoil our time doing gossiping or mundane talking. So coming back to ekadashi, how the day of ekadashi comes, according to Vedic tradition, there are two ways to calculate the time. One is called as lunar calendar, another one solar calendar. According to the lunar calendar, every 32 months, and 16 to 18 days, and some hours later, the Purushottam month comes, it is called as adhik maas, or mal maas, or purushotam maas. But according to calculation via solar calendar, no purushotam month comes. Mainly in South India, they follow solar calendar, so they have no adhik maas(month) for them. But in the south-east, in Shri Jagannath Puri, Sri Jagannath Dev is there. In Orissa, they honor the lunar calendar, Jagannath Puri is not South, it is on the east coast of India. Whenever the month of ashaad(second half of June, first Half of July), will be Purushottam month, then Jagannath Dev will change his vigrah. Will be Purusottam month, then Jagannath Dev will change his Vigraha, new vigraha will be established there (installed there). Like, we have so many deities;

So many deities are there, but they never change. But why Jagannath Dev is changing His Vigraha? It’s His own desire. Why? It will not apply there. Why? It’s His desire. So, in the coming year, next year, will be Jagannath Dev’s new Kalewar, new Vigraha, so much crowd will be there in Jagannath Puri. The biggest festival In the whole world is cart festival of Jagannath Dev. There’s no big festival any year in the world like Jagannath Dev.
So, now I am coming in Ekadashi.
Ekadashi; this word came from Ekadash, this is sanskrit word, Ekadashi or Ekadash. Ekadashi or ekadash means eleven (11), 11th day of moon. Twice a month Ekadashi comes, during black fortnight, and sometimes during white fortnight. So the 11th day of moon. Moon from new moon to full moon increases part by part and from full moon to new moon decreases part by part. Moon is always absorbing, soaking water. So grain is always holding water. First, I’m giving a scientific explanation. That grain is holding water, soaking water, if we take that grain during the Ekadashi day, then it’s not good for our health. Srila Gurudev told that from Ekadashi to new moon and ekadashi to full moon, the toll rate (death rate) is very high in the whole world. When Gurudev told this, then in Mathura who has seen Keshav Ji Gaudiya Nath, on the opposite of Keshav Ji Gaudiya Math, there was a district hospital in Mathura and Gurudev has one disciple, he has a very big private hospital. So I contacted them. Then I checked the toll rate of death, from Ekadashi to Purnima (full moon) is more higher than other time.
Why? Because they are taking grains. And moreover, diseases also increase at that time. Because human being are taking grains and grain is holding the water soaked by moon. So we have to fast on Ekadashi.
In ancient times, everyone used to do Nirjala Ekadashi, always because it is mentioned, “Ekadashi Upasya Nirambhu Bhaksha “On Ekadashi Day, you have to do full fast like Ambrish Maharaj used to do, Pandavas used to do and the next day, after sunrise, some time is there to break the Vrat. If you’d not do, then you would not get a complete result. So, “Ekadashi Tithi, Bhakti Janani, Jatane Palana Kori, Krishna Basoti, Basoti boli’, Parama Adare Bori” or “Madhav Tithi, Bhakti Janani, Jatane Palana Kori.”
Ekadashi Tithi, Harivaser Tithi, and Madhav Tithi are the same. But, for different-different causes, we have this. We have to observe (Ekadashi Fast) with full care, great care. Why? Because Krishna is living in that very day. How it became Ekadashi?
Once, Dwarkadhish Krishna was travelling in His Chariot and, he heard that some lamenting and bitterly crying sound is coming from the south direction. Lord Krishna ordered His Chariot, “Daruk, O Daruk, where is this sound coming from? Take me there.” So Daruk drove the Chariot and Lord Krishna found out at the abode of Maharaj Yam, the jiva souls are lamenting. “Karunavidya Vandeh”, Krishna’s Heart melted due to mercy, that Krishna, Himself, manifested as Ekadashi. Whoever observed Ekadashi, they will not have to go to the hellish planet. If we not (observe Ekadashi), we have to go. So, what is the rule of Ekadashi?
On the day of Ekadashi, you are not allowed to take any grain, no beans, no corn, no dal, and whatever is restricted is Chaturmaas, that is also not allowed. So, these are the rules and, how Ekadashi will break?

Shastra has given One analoggy
“Asakridi jala panach sakrittambula charbanat, upavaas pranashyet divashasch maithunat”
What does it mean
“Oh Maharaj”, you are telling sanskrit, you are sanskrit scholar, we could not understand, you have to tell the meaning.
Okay No problem
So “Asakridi jala panach”, Means again and again, if we drink water again and again, and “sakrittambula charbanat“ if we take betel nut and betel leaves even once, and drink water again and again, and if fall asleep in daytime, you can say Oh we have seen in gaudiya Matth, they are Sleeping, sanyasis and brahmachari, this idea may come. Why are you taking rest then? We have to wake up early morning, So to maintain other service we have to take some rest and “Maithunat”, means mating, not allowed.
So one of these, either to drink water again and again, Or to take betel nut once, or sleeping in daytime, or mating.Anyone of these 4 will break(suspend/breach) Ekadashi, not only Ekadashi, any fasting for that matter.Any fasting day, these are Completely avoided(restricted), have to avoid it.
Now question may arise, because you are very intelligent, that Maharaj you are saying that on Ekadashi we should not take even once the Betel nut and Betel leaves!!
So other day will take?

So out of 6 Goswamis, one Goswami’s name was Gopal Bhatta Goswami
He had one disciple .So one day he came to his Guru, Gopal Bhatta Goswami, on the day of ekadashi, and he was chewing Betel nut
Gopal Bhatt Goswami : Oh my dear disciple, what are you doing? You are chewing betel nut?
Desciple : Yes Gurudev, why not?
Gopal Bhatt Goswami : How come?
Desciple : “I offered it to the deity, shall I throw away the Mahaprasad, will it not be an offence?Then Gopal Bhatt Goswami, .“Je jan Krsna bhaje, sey bada chatur”
Gurudev(Narayan Goswami Maharaj) used to say, “Whoever does Bhajan of Krsna or any incarnation of Krsna, that devotee is very very clever” In this world, Bhagwan(Krsna) is very clever but Devotee of Bhagwan is even more clever
Why? Because they(the devotees) captured Krsna in their heart!!

Gurudev used to give this example : When mother yashoda was churning yogurt, krishna tried to come out of bed, He can lift Goverdhan, kill so many demons but controlled by mother’s love, he could not get off from bed easily, but somehow or the other with great difficulty and taking help from his belly, gradually slipped down from the bed and started weeping, mother is churning yogurt and singing “Govind damodar madhveti, govind damodar madhveti” Now Krsna says, “Maiyaa, I am hungry, maiya I am hungry” Mother I am hungry but mother is not listening at all, she is humming the same tune.
Then Krsna started beating his feet on the floor, (tap tap sound)
Mother is still not listening, then Krsna thought why is mother not listening or taking care of me, (not paying attention to me), because mother is churning yoghurt, Krsna thinks, “ok, I have to stop this.” Krsna came, by one hand, hold mother’s face on the side gently and with the other hand, hold the churning stick.
Mother thought, oh what happened all of a sudden!!, I was churning but now it stopped, who is pulling me?? (seeing Krsna), “ohh my Lalla(dearmost son) has come, then mother yashoda took Krsna in her lap and started feeding him with her own breast milk and caressing Krsna’s head. (and I am not going into too much details) and close by the milk is boiling over, mother thought, “Oh my goodness, my breast milk is not sufficient for sweet rice, not for sandesh, not for rasgulla, not for rabdi, nothing. If I don’t protect the milk from boiling over, then how will I serve Krsna all day long with Sweet rice, Sandesh, Rasgulla, rabdi and yummy butter.
But another thought, why is the milk boiling over?
Milk is thinking, mother yashoda’s breast is full of milk, the Milk in ksheer sagar came for mother yashoda herself, and there is no end to breast milk of mother yashoda, on the other hand, all universe is in Krsna’s stomach, so Krsna’s apetite shall never come to an end. So I have no scope to serve Krsna, so it’s better I(milk thinking) give up my life, jumping into the fire.
Now mother wants to go away, Krsna thinking, Oh my goodness, “mother I am not satisfied yet”, but mother wants to go away!! So what Krsna did, by his feet wrapped mother yashoda’s waist, now let’s see, how mother will go away and by hand hold mother yashoda’s breast and between teeth and tongue hold her nipple while sucking milk, how mother will go away now?? “when Krsna was only six days old boy, then putana came who had the strength of 10,000 elephants in her body and wanted to kill Krsna. She made Krishna suck her milk, even Krishna doesn’t know how to suck milk, putana by force put her nipple in his mouth and when krishna was sucking her milk(poison) and eventually life (air), putana screamed, “LEAVE LEAVE I am dying”. Krsna was only six days old that time and still putana could not get rid of him, even after having the power of ten thousand elephants in her body and now Krsna is two and a half years old, he held Mother Yashoda very tightly, by hands around her chest, her nipple in his mouth and Krsna’s legs around her belly, but mother yashoda said hey! Sit here and in a fraction of second, by one hand mother yashoda detached Krsna from her body and put him down on the floor. Krsna was very angry that time and mother went to put some water on the milk, then took it (milk containing vessel) down from the stove. Krishna thought that now mother will not give me breast milk and would start churning yogurt. So krishna took a pestle and broke a different vessel(containing yoghurt) and yogurt started coming out from that vessel like a fountain. Krishna thought that he did a wonderful job and what could mother even do now. Krishna became very cheerful, but then next moment Krsna became fearful that his mother will come. “First he was cheerful, now he became fearful because when mother will see this, she will make him tearful.”“Ok, better to run away from here.” Krishna is Svayam Bhagavan. He is walking but the yogurt was liquid, and Krsna was passing through the yogurt and He did not know that He was leaving behind His footprints. He thought,”I am very clever “ and Mother Yashoda when she came,”Oh, Krishna, you are thinking you are very clever but you have taken birth from my womb. So I am 2 fingers ahead (more intelligent) than you. Everything that you get is from my womb, so I am superior to you.” So here, why? “jei jane krishna bhaje sei bado chatur” Whoever does bhajan of Krsna – they are very clever. So, what I was telling, giving example? Devotee says, “Mother was more clever than Krsna.” I know, I was asking him (everyone laughing).
So Gopala Bhatta Goswami asked his devotee, “You have taken betel nuts? “Yes Gurudev, I offer to deity then should I throw?” And Gopal Bhatta Goswami, very high qualified devotee – he is Guna Manjari said, “Ok, then you did not offer rice, dal, chapati?” “Yes Gurudev.” “What you did?” “I ate.” “What? You ate rice, dal, chapati?” “Yes Gurudev, I ate everything. I offer to deity then how can I throw?” Then Gopal Bhatta Goswami rejected him. Hit Harivamsa, his name is Hit Harivamsa. So then, he was rejected by Gurudev and he gave up his life. So in their sampradaya they are not observing Ekadasi in Vrndavan. Nowadays they have started observing again. Gopala Bhatta Goswami told and it has been mentioned in Hari-bhakti-vilasa and other places that when we offer grains to the deities on Ekadasi, we have to keep for the next day to do paran. So on Ekadasi day, we can offer grains to the deities but we are not allowed to take and betel nuts never. So Gopal Bhatta Goswami rejected Hit Harivamsa. So look, a highly qualified guru, what his disciple is doing. So you have to be very careful. You have to observe Ekadasi in the proper way. So Krsna became Ekadasi Himself, manifested Himself. Whoever observes Ekadasi in the proper way and is initiated by a bona fide Guru and having good association, then he will go to the heavenly planets by observing Ekadasi. Karmis also observe Ekadasi for their good health but devotees are doing to please Hari, Guru and Vaishnavas. In this world there are 12 Mahajanas, means great personalities. Who are the 12 Mahajanas? Devotee: Janaka, Bali, Prahlada,
Srla Madhava Maharaj: Ok listen. Svayambhūr nāradaḥ śambhuḥ, kumāraḥ kapilo manuḥ, prahlādo janako bhīṣmo, balir vaiyāsakir vayam Tomorrow I will ask Jagat Mohan prabhu. Jagat Mohan, you asked me this in Stuttgart, so I will ask him tomorrow. If you will not answer, I will not talk with you. (joking)
So “svayambhūr” – svayambhūr means Brahmaji, who manifested himself. He came from the lotus navel of Garbhodakasayi Vishnu – svayambhūr. Nāradaḥ – Nāradaḥ is the son of Brahma, who came from the throat. Sambhuḥ – Shivji. Kumāraḥ means 4 Kumaras – although 4, they are 1 unit. They are sons of Brahmaji. Kapilo is Kapiladev. Manuḥ – this biological creation started from Manu and Satyarupa and he made Manu Smriti and Manu Samhita. Prahlādo – Prahlādo is the son of Hiranyakasipu. Janako – father of Sita Devi or father-in-law of Lord Ram. Bhīṣmo – Grandfather Bhīṣmo. Balir – Maharaj Balir, grandson of Prahlad Maharaj. Vaiyāsakir means Sukadev Goswami, son of Vyasadev. Vayam means Maharaj Yam, death personified. There – 12 Mahajanas.
When devotees are maintaining Ekadasi, now Maharaj Yam’s abode, not so much are going there. As before, in Yamaraja’s abode outside, no vacancies. Like in big big hospitals, you can see no vacancies. Then when a patient comes into Emergency, have to get extra bed, this and that. In the same way, when people are coming to Maharaj Yam’s abode, then have to make extra arrangements and now, very few are there. Maharaj Yam held a meeting and all 12 Mahajanas were there. Maharaj Yam, death personified, told, “Oh, I held this meeting. I want to resign from my post.” “Why?” “Because for what purpose I am here? No one is coming, so why shall I maintain this department?” Like nowadays all over the world, big big leaders want to do, they do press conference and Maharaj Yam held a meeting with all Mahajanas. The other Mahajanas told, “If you give up your post, Bhagavan will be happy?” Maharaj Yam said, “I can do my bhajan peacefully. Why take headache, no one is there.” Brahmaji told, “Don’t worry.” Because out of the 12 Mahajanas, Brahma’s name is first; he has more responsibilities. “Ok, I will do something.” “What will you do?” “Wait a little, I am arranging.”
Moreover, at that time, there was a king whose name was Rukmangada .Rukm means Gold…Anga means whole body was so much golden ornaments and he has only one son, name was Dharmangada who was always following religion and he had one Queen named Rohini. He had the rule that everybody had to do full fasting. On the day of Ekadasi, if there was any fire smoke coming from anyone’s house, they will be arrested and will get kicked out from his kingdom. Not only due to fear, due to love of the king, all the inhabitants of his kingdom were following Ekadashi.
According to Vedic tradition, it is mentioned, “pancasordhvam vanam vrajet”. When somebody is over 50 years, have to go to forest for doing bhajan. Sometimes male going alone, sometimes male and female both. So King Rukmangada told his Queen, “Oh my dear Queen, now I am over 50, I want to do Vanaprastha and go to the forest to do bhajan.” His Queen told, “No no no, I will also go with you.” The King told, “No my dear Queen, we only have one son, If both of us abandon him, what will he think? So better you can take care of my children and kingdom; you can help him in each and every step, I will go alone.” Queen said, “Ok, no problem.” So he went for doing bhajan and what used to happen? One day before Ekadasi on the day of Dasami, the King will send his messengers – they will go round about the t-junctions, beating drums. Nowadays you can send text messages, “Oh, Madhava Maharaj is coming for 3 days, Vana Maharaj is coming for one week. This and that.” At that time, the messengers will go round about the t-junctions, beating the drums. “Rotterdam” (rhyming with drum, laughs) so they are beating drums (joking and devotees laughing). Then people gather towards them. The messengers will announce, “Tomorrow is Ekadasi, Everyone has to follow, have to observe Ekadasi, Whoever does not observe Ekadasi, the King will punish them and kick them out of the kingdom.” So all of them would observe Ekadasi. So now, what happened? Brahmaji told, “I am taking care, don’t worry.” Brahmaji is the Creator, Bhagavan gave him the responsibility of Creation. He created one very extremely beautiful girl. She was so beautiful, even more beautiful than Miss Universe. She did pranams to Brahmaji and asked, “My dear Father, why did you create me? What is my name? How can I please you? What is my job? What is my duty and responsibility?” Brahmaji told, “Your name will be Mohini. Mohini means who can bewilder everyone. You heard of Mohini avatar of Bhagavan? How she distributed the nectar among the demigods and cheated the demons? So similarly, your name will be Mohini. You can bewilder everyone.” She asked, “What is my duty?” Brahmaji said, “So nowadays there is a king named Rukmangada and he has now gone for Vanaprastha. He is following Ekadasi and in his kingdom, everyone is doing Ekadasi. You have to deviate him from Ekadasi. This is your duty and responsibility, if you can do so, I will be very very happy.” Mohini exclaimed, “Father his name is Rukmangad?, okay!! Father, by my one side long glance, I can make him Mohinidas, in one click, I will only look towards him once, and he will forget everything and he will be Mohinidas from then, no more Rukmangad.
Like when our Nāmācārya Haridāsa Ṭhākura was being bhajan, Ramchandra Khan became very jealous and he wanted to make him deviate from this path for long, so he engaged so many prostitutes very young, beautiful prostitutes. Now many of them, they said, “oh Haridāsa Ṭhākura, no no no, we will not go, he is extremely qualified, saintly person, we will not go.” At last, one very beautiful young prostitute agreed to go. Her name was “Heera, Laksha/Laukha Heera”, by prostitution, she he had made so much money, that her whole body was full of diamonds. Heera means Diamond, Laksha means 100,000. From her toe to head, everywhere diamond and diamond, so her name became ‘Laksha Heera’. Now Ramchandra Khan told her, “if you make him fall down, I’ll give you half of my kingdom. Heera said, “Ok, in one click, only one side-long glance, I can make him fall down and today he is called as Haridāsa, come tomorrow, he will be called as Heera das, I am Heera, he will be my servant.” Haridāsa means servant of God and from tomorrow will be Heera das, servant of this Heera(the prostitute). In the same way, Mohini is bragging, “Father, by one click, one side-long glance, Rukmangad from next day will be Mohini das. Mohini was extremely beautiful and put on so many ornaments and she went to the forest just one-two days before King Rukmangad was about to leave for forest. The forest is very beautiful, completely peaceful, dears jumping here and there, rabbits are grazing grass, a very nice river flowing very gently and the water in the river is so transparent very crystal clear.
To devotees : My dear devotee you are in Holland and not in France, so don’t try to enter into trance, do you understand? To whom am I speaking?? Don’t close your eyes, don’t try to enter into trance!!, you are in Rotterdam, Holland and not in France.
Gurudev continued : So what happened, water is crystal clear and that lady sitting on the bank of river, keeping her feet on the water surface, playing with water making ripples on the water stream, and her body is not completely covered and she is wearing a very thin fine cloth, her beauty is peeping through her fine cloth. The king was moving forward in a distance when he noticed some repression in the water. King wondered, “What one lady is alone?”. So he came to her, and asked, “My dear lady, who are you?, Why are you alone here? What are you doing? Then Mohini replied, “My name is Mohini. King enquired, “Why are you moving here and there all alone?” Mohini replied, “Oh I’m searching for a qualified husband for myself”. “I traveled to so many places, people like me but I don’t like them.”
“So, according to my(Mohini’s) consideration, you are the fittest candidate to be my husband. “If you marry me, your life will be successful and my life will also be successful.”
The king said, “You being a young lady, fully grown up, it is not good for you to stay alone.”
Pitā rakṣati kaumāre bhartā rakṣati yauvane |
Rakṣanti sthavire putrā na strī svātantryamarhati
“It is mentioned in the scriptures, when a girl is small, then parents especially her father takes care of her, after marriage, her husband takes care and in the old age, her son takes care on the woman. Woman should not be left alone as it is not good for their protection.”
The king said, “okay I can marry you, not for myself but for your betterment.” Mohini replied, “Yes, I am very happy, but I have one condition”. King asked, “What condition?”. Mohini said, “Whatever I will do, you must not question, ask me why I did so or make any objections. If you make any objections, I will leave you immediately ask for divorce and give up on you.” King replied, “No I will not make any objections. Then the King, sent someone to inform his previous wife ‘Rohini’ and his son ‘Dharmangad’, about the marriage with Mohini. They became very happy and started to decorate the entire palace beautifully. Mohini came, and now the king was always with her. Rohini was very gentle, and very religious, doing her bhajan and everything.”
Mohini came, now, king marriages Mohini and king’s wife Rohini was very gentle and very religious he has no malice or no tease in his heart So what happens, Mohini knew for what purpose she came, so she calls some Brahmins and told “Now listen it’s Ekadashi coming after three days, when my husband wants to ask you the rules of the Ekadashi, you’ll tell him that any married lady should not observe Ekadashi and, … any married lady should not Ekadashi, …and king should not observe Ekadashi. If my husband ask then who’ll observe Ekadashi, You tell oh widow will do and the Brahmchaaris who do nothing …
So Madhav Maharaj, Van Maharaj, Tirtha Maharaj they all will do the Ekadashi (Gurudev smiling).
She gave a lot of money

The day before Ekadashi the king arranged a messenger beating drums (Gurudev played drum beats by hands, dug dug dug… )
“LISTEN ! THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION, TOMORROW IS EKADASHI ! EVERYBODY HAVE TO FOLLOW EKADASHI. WHO WILL NOT FOLLOW THEY HAVE TO BE KICKED OUT FROM KINGDOM.”
When she hears this asked “My dear husband why they’re making so much noise?What kind of a noise is this?”
The king told her “My dear Queen ,that’s not noise”
“What is that ? Why they’re hitting down so many drums why they’re so much louder. I don’t like such loud sound”
King told “My dear wife, tomorrow is Ekadashi, everybody has to follow Ekadashi, who will not follow Ekadashi I kick him out from my Kingdom”
“What ekadashi, fikadashi ? I don’t Like … ”
Then king explained “one has to keep fast from eating even grains dals beans… ”
“No, I’ll should not follow ekadashi and you’re not too allowed to follow ekadashi …. ”
“What ??? Why you saying that?“

The king calls the same Brahmins who used to give always a good advice to king.
But the Brahmins told “The king should not observe the Ekadashi”
“But, Why???”
They said what Mohini told them,
“If the king keeps fast then he’ll be weak and if other king attacks, he will be defeated. So a king should not observe Ekadashi, moreover a married lady should not do Ekadashi either…”
Then king asked “Then who will do, who’ll observe?”
“Oh only the widow and the saintly persons and brahmacharis living in maths, no one else….”
Then the chestiled the Brahmins very badly and king told “Mohini you have to observe Ekadashi ”
Mohini told “Okay beware about the terms & conditions of this marriage if you deny or make any objection in my work, I divorce you, I’ll kick you and I go away”
King said ,“Do you think I’m a lusty person and captivated by your beauty? FORGET IT ! Since you was moving alone so I brought you to my kingdom, not captivated by your beauty.”
“You immediately can go out !”
He called his military, “Take her hand and kick her out of my kingdom!” Mohini was shaking a little inside, “Oh my goodness, I thought he is captivated by my beauty but he’s so strong, he’s so strong.” The king shouted, “Go ahead and get out! Don’t think I’m a lusty person captivated by your beauty. For your betterment I give you shelter.” The previous Queen Rohini came, “Oh my dear husband, she’s my younger sister. Gradually she will learn everything.” Mohini was very stubborn, “No! I will not do, King will not do.” Rohini told, “Ok my dear sister, you can allow King to observe Ekadasi. In exchange of that, what you want, I can do everything.” Mohini said, “Yes, you can do that?” Rohini said, “Yes I am promising” Mohini said, “Ok! One thing that you have to do then I will be happy then King can observe Ekadasi.” Rohini asked, “What?” Mohini said, “You and your husband, this King Rukmangada – you both have to cut off your son’s head and have to present to me on a golden plate.”

With saw, you’ll not have to take so much time and, not only that, no tear should come from your son’s eyes, not your eyes and not your husband’s eyes. If tears will come either from your eyes or your husband’s eyes or your son’s eyes, then I’ll not accept, even if the head is chopped off. So, the three of you should have no tears, no use of sharp sword, but by saw.
The king became very angry. “You are a witch, get out of my kingdom! Military, my dear! Commander General! Kick her out!”
Mohini is telling, “Oh, my dear husband, be cool.”
Son came, “Father, very good! I’m happy to give up my life for Ekadashi. If my life is offered for Ekadashi, how qualified I am! My life is successful. I will not live at all.”
Mohini told, “My dear husband, if one son is gone, another son will come. What is the harm?”
In some way or the other, the son and first queen Rohini are holding king’s feet and make him agree. Now, the son keeps his face down and the saw is arranged. They put (the saw on the neck) and start (to cut).
Immediately in the meantime, Bramha, the creator of this Universe, Vishnu,the mentor of this Universe, Shiva, the devastator (destroyer) of this universe, all three of them appeared, before the starting (of chopping off the head).
Vishnu Bhagwan told, Varam grahi, ask any benediction.
“My Darshan is infallible. I want to give you a benediction.”
Rukmangad told, “Prabhu, don’t take any hard task. In the future, no one can pass this test.”
“How is it possible? Mother and Father will cut their own son’s head by a saw and no tears will come. How is it possible?”
Vishnu smiled, “Ok, so be it. I should not take any hard test in the future.”
Then Vishnu appointed his son, Dharmangad as a king and took Rukmangad without Mohini to the Vaikuntha Planet. Now, Mohini weeps so bitterly, “Oh my dear father Brahma Ji, what should I do now? What will be my destiny?”
Then Brahma Ji told, “Whoever is not observing Ekadashi and takes grains, you will get all inauspiciousness while you are living and moreover, whoever is observing Ekadashi, but Viddh Ekadashi; Ekadashi mixed with previous tithi, they will also get the result. Like this way, you will maintain your life.”
So, this is the Ekadashi Tithi.
So, I am concluding my class.
Ekadashi means the 11th day of moon. And, we have to serve Bhagwan with our relevant senses.
Why should we observe Ekadashi, according science?
The moon Is always soaking the water, and, from Ekadashi to full moon, Ekadashi to new moon, the diseases are increasing, you can check in hospitals.
“Why? Because moon sucks water and we have water in our bodies, so chances of diseases increase, during this time, the total number of deaths is more than any other time, from Ekadashi to full moon and Ekadashi to new moon. Even high tide is more in this time and if we drink water again and again, sleep in day time or mating in fasting days then Ekadashi is broken(breached) so how to do Ekadashi, have to do full fast and next day take charnamrit but in Kaliyug it is very hard so we can take anukalpa, but no grain, no dahl, no corn. We can take anukalpa and then next day we can do paran. So what is Ekadashi, Krsna himself, seeing the lamentation, hearing the lamentation and weeping bitterly, Krishna himself became Ekadashi. We observe Ekadashi initiated by bonafide Gurudev, being in good association then we can go to Vaikuntha planets. Yam Maharaj’s abode is going to be vacant soon. Ekadashi overlapping means, Ekadashi means 11th day of moon, sometime in the morning the Dashami thithi overlaps with Ekadashi then we should not do even there is no Ekadashi from next day with Dwadashi we can maintain and observe it, but we should not do when Dashami overlaps with Ekadashi we should not observe fast that day. If we do Ekadashi that day, the result will go to Mohini. Even in brahma muhurt, that is 1 hour 36 minutes before if it is Dashami we should not do, we have to do it next day. Understand it?
So tomorrow you have to tell the names of 12 mahajans.

So they are great personalities, what they are doing we have to follow for our own benefit, whatever they are doing in eternal abode there is no sadhan,sadhan is here in bhaum Vrindavan , bhaum Navadweep, bhaum Jagganth puri, in mundane world not there, there is no Ekadashi,no janam, not fasting.
